Foundations replaces traditional Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced classes with one complete learning experience designed to prepare you and your dog for life beyond the classroom.
Together we'll train in parks, stores, trails, and public spaces throughout the Rogue Valley so your skills become reliable wherever life takes you.

You'll learn how to understand your dog, build motivation, navigate distractions, and create habits that carry into everyday life—not just during class.

Weeks 1–4 — Build the Relationship
Communication, engagement, marker training, play, and loose leash foundations in low-distraction spaces.
Week 5 — Integration Week
No class. Practice your new skills at home, on walks, and in your everyday routines.
Weeks 6–9 — Build Reliability
Recall, place, public manners, confidence, and dog neutrality in busier real-world environments.
Week 10 — Integration Week
Keep practicing and refining your skills so you and your dog feel ready for the final stage.
Weeks 11–14 — Real-Life Application

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the ideal age for a dog to begin?
Typically, our canine students start Foundations at 5–6 months. For younger pups or senior dogs, we discuss suitability during your preliminary Training Evaluation to ensure it aligns with their needs.
Is prior training a requirement?
Not at all. Foundations is crafted to accommodate all experience levels. Whether you are starting from scratch or refining established behaviors, we adapt our coaching to your current progress.
Can our whole family participate?
Absolutely. We highly recommend household-wide participation. This ensures your dog receives unified guidance and clear signals from everyone they live with.
What if our schedule conflicts with a session?
We understand things come up. If a class is missed, we provide detailed homework and core exercises to ensure you and your dog maintain your momentum and skills.
Do you accept reactive dogs in the program?
Many reactive dogs flourish in this setting, but some may require specialized prep work. We use the Training Evaluation to determine if this group environment is the safest path for your dog’s success.
Why are classes held in various locations?
The world is the real classroom. By practicing in cafes, parks, and busy streets, your dog learns to be responsive and calm in the actual places you visit together every day.
Which gear should I bring?
We will provide a full kit list during your evaluation. Generally, you will just need a comfortable harness or collar, a sturdy leash, and some highly rewarding treats to get started.
What comes after we graduate?
Graduation opens the door to our Wild Alchemy Membership. You’ll gain access to exclusive events like Adventure Walks, Sunset Strolls, Agility workshops, and our ongoing Foundations Club for continued growth.
